🚗 Give yourself EXTRA time to get anywhere. Seriously. Costa Rica roads have their own agenda. Google Maps may tell you something is a 45-minute drive, but that does not necessarily mean you’ll arrive in 45 minutes. Take your time, enjoy the scenery, and build some wiggle room into your plans, especially when heading to the airport. 🌧️ It rains in Costa Rica. Sometimes dramatically. Sometimes for 20 minutes. Sometimes right when you’ve decided to sit outside. Don’t panic! The rain usually passes, the jungle gets ridiculously green, and the sun comes back out. It’s part of the Costa Rica experience. ☀️🌿 🐒 You are in the jungle. Basically. You may hear howler monkeys, see tropical birds, geckos, iguanas, or other little jungle residents around the property. That's part of the magic! Please don't feed the wildlife, and remember that bugs are also enthusiastic participants in the Costa Rican vacation experience. 🌊 The ocean is beautiful... and powerful. Please pay attention to local conditions and posted warnings when swimming or surfing. If you're unsure, ask a local. They know the water better than Google does. 🧴 Sunscreen is your friend. The tropical sun is no joke, even when there are clouds. Reapply often, drink plenty of water, and don't let the breeze fool you into thinking you're not getting absolutely roasted. 💧 Drink water. Lots of it. Between the heat, humidity, sun, and all the exploring you're going to do, staying hydrated makes a surprisingly big difference. 🕰️ Pura vida means slowing down. Things may not always happen on the exact timeline you're used to at home. Restaurants, roads, construction, weather, and just about everything else can operate on a slightly more relaxed schedule. Take a breath. You're in Costa Rica. 🇨🇷 🔐 A little common sense goes a long way. Lock doors and windows when you leave, don't leave valuables unattended, and treat the property like you would your own home. ❤️ Most importantly: enjoy it. Put the phone down. Sit in the hammock. Listen to the monkeys. Watch the sunset. Go barefoot. Let Costa Rica do what it does best.
